Phone app keeps seniors on their feet: Tech-Based rehab cuts doctor visits
NCT ID NCT02580409
Summary
This study tested whether a new rehab program using mobile health technology could help older adults maintain their physical function and independence. 75 older adults with some difficulty walking or climbing stairs received personalized exercises via a tablet app, with remote support from a physical therapist over 9 months. Researchers tracked their mobility, daily function, and healthcare use for a year to see if the tech-supported program was effective.
