Phone app aims to ease newborn opioid withdrawal through Mom's care

NCT ID NCT04783558

Summary

This study is testing a mobile app designed to teach pregnant women with opioid use disorder how to care for their newborns who are at risk for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), a set of withdrawal symptoms. The goal is to see if the app is easy to use and helpful for mothers, and if learning these care strategies during pregnancy can improve outcomes like mother-baby bonding, reduce hospital stays, and support the mother's recovery. Researchers will compare 30 women who use the app to those who receive standard care.
