Blood test ratio may spot deadly lung clots faster

NCT ID NCT07023705

First seen May 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a ratio of two blood cell types (monocytes and large platelets) can help diagnose acute pulmonary embolism, a serious blood clot in the lungs. Researchers analyzed blood samples from 53 patients who had a CT scan to confirm or rule out the clot. The goal was to see if this simple, inexpensive test could be a useful diagnostic tool.
