New depression drug trial halted early – what we know

Summary
This study tested an experimental drug called MK-1942 in about 99 adults with treatment-resistant depression (depression that doesn't get better with usual antidepressants). Participants took MK-1942 (daily or intermittently) or a placebo pill alongside their current antidepressant. The goal was to see if MK-1942 could reduce depression symptoms better than placebo. The trial was terminated early, so results are limited.
