Surgeons test augmented reality glasses to speed up complex breast cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07080463

Summary

This study is testing a new mixed reality system called VascuLens 2.0 to see if it helps surgeons perform a specific type of breast reconstruction surgery faster and with fewer complications. The system uses a special headset to project a 3D map of the patient's blood vessels directly onto their skin during surgery. Researchers will compare surgery times and complication rates between patients whose surgeons use the new system and those who use the current standard method.
