Antioxidant pill tested to help weakened hearts
NCT ID NCT05410873
Summary
This study tested whether a supplement called MitoQ could improve heart function in people with dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition where the heart muscle is weak and enlarged. Over 100 participants were randomly assigned to receive either MitoQ or a placebo pill for several months. Researchers used heart scans and blood tests to see if the treatment improved the heart's energy levels and pumping ability.
