Can a gentle jogging bed help kids with rare energy diseases?
NCT ID NCT05569122
Summary
This study aims to understand how the body uses energy during exercise in people with primary mitochondrial diseases, which cause severe muscle weakness and fatigue. Researchers will compare 90 participants—some with the disease and some healthy—during different activities, including a special passive exercise bed. A second part of the study will test the same passive exercise device on children who are very sick and in the hospital's intensive care unit.
