Ancient chewing stick takes on modern toothbrush in Kids' dental health trial

NCT ID NCT07409610

Summary

This study tested whether a traditional 45°-cut miswak stick works as well as a manual toothbrush for removing plaque from children's teeth. In a 'split-mouth' trial, 82 children aged 6-14 used the miswak on one side of their mouth and a toothbrush on the other to see which cleaned better. The goal was to see if this natural, affordable tool could be a good option for oral hygiene.
