Blood biomarkers may help decide which boys need surgery for testicle issues
NCT ID NCT07315737
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at tiny molecules in the blood called miRNAs to see if they could help doctors tell the difference between undescended testicles (which need surgery) and retractile testicles (which usually get better on their own). Researchers tested blood samples from 28 boys and measured three specific miRNAs. The goal was to find a simple blood test that could guide treatment decisions and avoid unnecessary operations.
