Can weekly mindfulness calls ease pain after back surgery?
NCT ID NCT05698914
Summary
This pilot study tested whether weekly telehealth mindfulness sessions help people recover better from lumbar spine surgery compared to educational sessions. 67 adults recovering from their first back surgery were randomly assigned to receive 8 weeks of either mindfulness coaching or education over video calls. Researchers measured pain, medication use, mood, and function for 6 months to see which approach was more helpful and feasible.
