First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This pilot study tested whether a mindfulness meditation program before total knee replacement surgery could improve patients' mental well-being and physical recovery. Thirty adults scheduled for knee replacement were randomly assigned to either receive the meditation training before surgery or to a waitlist control group. The study aimed to see if such a program is feasible and to gather data for a larger future trial.
