Can mindfulness ease the pain of sickle cell disease?

Summary

This study is testing whether a 6-week group program teaching stress management and mindfulness skills can improve quality of life for people with sickle cell disease. 50 adults will be randomly assigned to either start the program right away or wait 6 weeks. The program includes weekly sessions on relaxation, communication with doctors, and mindfulness meditation, with the goal of helping participants better manage pain and daily stress.
