NCT ID NCT07374770

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a six-week mindfulness-based eating behavior training program can improve eating attitudes in people with orthorexic tendencies. Eighty adults with high scores on a orthorexia scale will be randomly assigned to either the training or a control group. The goal is to see if mindful awareness can reduce the rigid, anxious eating patterns common in orthorexia.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
mindfulness-based eating behavior training
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a non-drug way to help people with orthorexia develop healthier eating attitudes.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 80 participants. The training is behavioral, so results may vary and may not apply to everyone with orthorexia.
