Mind over matter: can meditation ease surgery pain?
NCT ID NCT06449144
Summary
This study tested whether a mindfulness training session before surgery could help reduce pain after an inguinal hernia repair. Researchers worked with 68 adults to see if learning mindfulness techniques lowered their pain levels, fear of pain, and how much the pain bothered them after the operation. The goal was to explore a non-drug method for managing post-surgery discomfort.
