Calm before the storm: nurses test mindfulness to ease heart surgery fears
NCT ID NCT07397052
Summary
This study will test if a special mindfulness program delivered by nurses can help reduce anxiety and improve vital signs like blood pressure in patients having open heart surgery. The program involves short, guided sessions focusing on breathing and relaxation before and right after the operation. Researchers will compare 60 patients who receive the mindfulness sessions with those who receive usual care to see if it makes a difference.
