Can mindfulness and a wearable sensor help break the cycle of heavy drinking?

NCT ID NCT06982443

Summary

This study is testing whether an 8-week mindfulness training program, combined with wearing a heart rate sensor, can help people with moderate to severe alcohol problems improve their self-control and reduce heavy drinking. Researchers want to see if changes in heart rate patterns during mindfulness sessions are linked to better control over drinking urges in daily life. About 120 participants will attend weekly groups, wear the sensor, and answer brief questions on their phone three times a day during the program.
