Can meditation and ear zaps ease pain and blues in seniors?
NCT ID NCT07415941
Summary
This study is testing whether two home-based, non-drug approaches can help older adults manage chronic low back pain and feelings of depression. Researchers are comparing a program combining mindfulness meditation with gentle electrical stimulation of the ear (which targets a nerve linked to mood and pain) to see if it reduces pain and improves mood. The goal is to see if these methods work and how they might affect the connection between the brain and the gut.
