Brain zaps & mindfulness may ease Post-Surgery pain
NCT ID NCT05673720
Summary
This small study explored whether a combination of two non-drug treatments could help manage pain after knee replacement surgery. Researchers tested if using a mild, safe form of brain stimulation (tDCS) along with mindfulness training before surgery could reduce patients' pain and their need for opioid painkillers afterward. The goal was to see if this approach was practical and acceptable to patients, and to get an early look at whether it might be effective.
