New hope for brain bleed patients: drug trial aims to prevent Stroke-Like damage

NCT ID NCT04362527

Summary

This study tested whether a drug called milrinone could help patients recover better after a severe brain bleed. The bleed can cause blood vessels in the brain to dangerously constrict, leading to stroke-like damage. In this large Phase 3 trial, 370 patients who developed this complication were randomly given either milrinone or a placebo to see if the drug improved their neurological recovery three months later.
