New sensor aims to reduce false alarms in IV monitoring

NCT ID NCT07228416

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will test a device called the ivWatch Model 400 on 25 healthy adults to see how often it gives false alarms when no IV problem exists. The sensor monitors common IV sites and alerts nurses if it thinks an infiltration (fluid leaking into tissue) may be happening. By checking normal, healthy tissues, researchers hope to improve the device's accuracy and reduce unnecessary checks.
