Military tests whether warning cadets about back injuries helps or hurts their performance
NCT ID NCT05453110
Summary
This study examined whether different types of back pain education affect military cadets' performance and confidence during fitness tests. Researchers gave 903 new cadets either cautionary warnings about injury risks, reassuring messages about spine resilience, or no special education before their deadlift test. The goal was to understand how these messages influence how much weight cadets lift, their confidence, and their beliefs about back vulnerability.
