Steroid pill may keep migraines away after ER treatment

NCT ID NCT06016465

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether adding a steroid pill (dexamethasone) to a standard nerve block can stop migraines from returning within 72 hours. About 84 adults with migraines who get relief from a nerve block in the ER will be followed by phone. The goal is to see if the steroid reduces headache recurrence better than the nerve block alone.
