Heart drug tested to stop migraine triggers in the brain

NCT ID NCT04853797

Summary

This study tested whether a drug called ivabradine could prevent migraine attacks triggered by another drug, levcromakalim, in people who get migraines without aura. Thirty-seven participants received both drugs in a random order to see if ivabradine reduced the number or severity of triggered attacks. The main goal was to better understand the brain mechanisms behind migraine pain to help develop future treatments.
