Less invasive heart surgery may speed recovery, new trial shows
NCT ID NCT03447938
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study compares two ways to do heart bypass surgery for people with blocked arteries. One method uses a small cut on the left side of the chest (minimally invasive), while the other opens the breastbone (traditional open-chest surgery). The goal is to see which approach helps patients recover faster and feel better in the first year after surgery. About 176 adults with multi-vessel coronary artery disease are taking part.
