Robot-Guided heat therapy targets lung metastases
NCT ID NCT05299606
First seen Nov 24, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to destroy lung tumors that have spread from other cancers. Using a robotic bronchoscope, doctors guided a microwave probe to heat and kill the tumors. The study enrolled 12 adults with controlled primary cancer and at least one lung tumor. The main goal was to see if the ablation completely covered the tumor at 30 days. The study was terminated early, so results are limited.
