Summary
This study tests a procedure that uses microwave energy to destroy part of the spleen while temporarily blocking its main artery. The goal is to improve low blood cell counts in people with severe hypersplenism caused by cirrhosis. About 35 adults whose blood counts have not responded to medication will receive the treatment and be monitored for changes in platelet and white blood cell levels, as well as any side effects.
