Could a 'Poop Transplant' for your eyes cure dryness?

NCT ID NCT07298811

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether transplanting healthy bacteria from a donor's eye to a patient's eye can help treat dry eye disease. It will involve 40 people with moderate to severe dry eye to see if this new approach reduces discomfort, improves tear production, and changes the eye's bacterial community. The goal is to see if restoring a healthy balance of eye microbes can better control the condition.
