First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at tiny, involuntary facial expressions (micro-expressions) in people with long-term consciousness disorders. Researchers want to see if these expressions can help better diagnose a patient's level of awareness. They will show emotional stimuli and track changes using video, EEG, and MRI. The goal is to improve understanding of brain function and refine diagnosis beyond standard clinical scales.
