First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study will follow 100 adults in southern Italy who have severe infections caused by carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE), a type of bacteria that is hard to treat. Researchers want to learn more about the bacteria's resistance patterns and genetic traits to help doctors choose better treatments. Participants must be 18 or older and have received at least one dose of specific antibiotics. The study does not test a new treatment but gathers information to improve future care.
