First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 42 times

Summary

This study tests if using a mechanical insufflation (MI) device twice daily for 6 months can slow the decline in cough strength in people with early ALS. Twenty participants will use the BiWaze Cough system, which inflates the lungs to help clear mucus. The goal is to see if this approach helps maintain peak cough flow compared to similar patients who did not use the device.
