First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 37 times
Summary
This study tests if using a mechanical insufflation device (BiWaze Cough) twice daily for 6 months can slow the loss of cough strength in people with early ALS. Twenty adults with ALS will use the device at home with a caregiver's help. Researchers will measure changes in peak cough flow and compare them to a similar group not using the device.
