Summary

This study tested whether a daily oral medication called MGL-3196 could reduce the amount of fat in the liver of people with NASH, a serious form of fatty liver disease. 125 participants with confirmed NASH were randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo pill for up to 36 weeks. The main goal was to see if the treatment could lower liver fat content, measured by a special MRI scan, compared to the placebo.
