New pill targets stubborn genetic cholesterol
NCT ID NCT03038022
Summary
This study tested whether a daily pill called MGL-3196 could lower 'bad' LDL cholesterol in people with a genetic condition that causes very high cholesterol. 116 adults with this inherited condition took either the drug or a placebo pill for 12 weeks while continuing their standard cholesterol medications. Researchers measured cholesterol levels to see if the new pill provided additional benefit.
