Summary
This study tested an experimental drug called MGL-3196 in 116 adults with a genetic condition that causes very high cholesterol (heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia). The goal was to see if the drug could lower bad cholesterol (LDL-C) more than a placebo over 12 weeks. The drug is taken once daily by mouth and aims to help control cholesterol levels, but ongoing management is still needed.
