New injection aims to stop dangerous bleeding in chronic immune disorder

Summary
This study is testing whether a new drug called mezagitamab, given as an injection under the skin, can help adults with chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) maintain safe platelet levels. ITP is a condition where the immune system mistakenly destroys platelets, increasing the risk of bruising and bleeding. Researchers will compare mezagitamab to a placebo (inactive substance) over 6 months to see if it is more effective at keeping platelet counts stable.
