Drug trial aims to tame harmful 'Stress Hormone' excess

NCT ID NCT06106295

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called metyrapone can safely and effectively treat a condition where the adrenal glands produce too much cortisol, a stress hormone. It will enroll 30 adults diagnosed with this mild cortisol excess who also have related health issues like high blood pressure or high blood sugar. The goal is to see if lowering cortisol with metyrapone improves these other health measures.
