Light therapy could halve healing time for painful breast infections

NCT ID NCT07179003

Summary

This study is testing if adding a special light-activated treatment to the standard drainage procedure helps breast abscesses heal faster. Fifty adults with a breast abscess will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard drainage alone or the standard drainage plus the new light therapy. Researchers will compare how quickly symptoms like pain and swelling go away and if the abscess is less likely to come back.
