Scientists search for blood clues to Methamphetamine-Related psychosis

NCT ID NCT07450027

Summary

This study aims to understand if specific proteins in the blood are linked to methamphetamine addiction and the psychosis it can sometimes cause. Researchers will compare blood levels of two proteins (LRFN5 and OLFM4) and markers of inflammation in 120 men: those with addiction, those with addiction and psychosis, and healthy individuals. The goal is to see if these measurements can help explain why some people develop severe mental symptoms from methamphetamine use.
