First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving a single dose of methadone during spine surgery can reduce pain and the need for other opioids after the operation. About 30 adults having elective spine surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either standard pain medication or methadone plus standard care. Researchers will track pain scores, opioid use, and recovery time to see if methadone leads to better outcomes.
