One shot during surgery could slash need for pain pills

NCT ID NCT06536517

Summary

This study is testing if a single dose of methadone given during a hysterectomy surgery can provide longer-lasting pain relief. The goal is to see if this reduces the total number of opioid pain pills patients need to take afterward. Researchers hope this approach can help tackle the problem of overprescribing opioids after surgery.
