Summary
This study tests whether metformin, a common diabetes drug, can prevent muscle loss and insulin resistance in healthy adults aged 60 and older during 5 days of bed rest. Researchers will measure changes in muscle size and insulin sensitivity. The goal is to find a simple way to protect muscle health in older adults who are temporarily inactive.
