Common diabetes pill may ease surgery side effects

Summary
This study aims to see if taking the diabetes medication metformin before surgery affects how often or how badly patients feel nauseous or vomit afterwards. Researchers will observe and compare 909 patients having surgery—some who already take metformin and some who do not. The goal is to gather information, not to test metformin as a new treatment for nausea.
