First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This phase 3 trial tests whether adding metformin (a common diabetes medicine) to standard targeted therapy (tyrosine kinase inhibitors) can help people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has a specific gene change (EGFR mutation). About 312 participants will receive either the combination or targeted therapy alone. The goal is to see if the combination delays cancer progression and improves survival.
