Diabetes drug gel tested to boost dental implant success
NCT ID NCT07469254
Summary
This small study tested whether adding a gel made from the diabetes drug metformin to a standard bone graft could improve healing for immediate dental implants. Researchers enrolled 20 healthy adults to see if the gel helped the new bone grow stronger and made the implant more stable over a year. They measured implant stability, bone thickness, and gum health at several check-ups.
