Can a common diabetes pill tame PCOS symptoms?

NCT ID NCT06479434

Summary

This study looked at whether the medication metformin helps improve hormone levels and reduce symptoms in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), compared to lifestyle changes alone. 110 women with PCOS took metformin for 8 weeks. Researchers measured their hormone and inflammation levels in blood tests and tracked changes in symptoms like facial hair and menstrual cycles through questionnaires.
