Diabetes drug trial offers new hope for slowing down knee arthritis
NCT ID NCT06231758
Summary
This study is testing whether adding the common diabetes medication metformin to standard care can better control pain and potentially slow the progression of knee osteoarthritis. It will involve 70 adults aged 30-60 with moderate knee arthritis confirmed by X-ray. The main goal is to see if this combination reduces pain more effectively than standard treatment alone.
