Common diabetes drug may help Kids' brains heal after cancer

Summary
This study is testing whether metformin, a medication commonly used for diabetes, can help children and young adults recover thinking skills and brain health after treatment for brain tumors. Researchers will give 140 participants either metformin or a placebo pill for 16 weeks to see if it improves memory, processing speed, and brain growth. The goal is to find a safe treatment to improve quality of life for young cancer survivors who often struggle with long-term cognitive problems.
