Common diabetes drug tested as new weapon against spreading sarcoma

NCT ID NCT07291297

Summary

This study is testing if adding the common diabetes medication metformin to standard first-line chemotherapy can help people with advanced soft tissue sarcoma that has spread or cannot be surgically removed. About 50 adults who are starting their first treatment for this advanced cancer will take metformin pills along with their standard chemotherapy. Researchers will track if this combination helps patients live longer and better controls the cancer compared to standard treatment alone.
