New scoring system could help predict survival in advanced cancer patients

Summary

This study tests a simple scoring system that uses lab results, emergency room visits, and cancer type to predict if someone with metastatic cancer will survive at least 30 days after starting palliative radiation therapy. About 214 adults with advanced cancer will be enrolled. The goal is to help doctors and patients make more informed decisions about treatment.
