Could a simple stool or urine test uncover mysterious infections in vulnerable patients?

NCT ID NCT07603453

First seen Jun 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether testing stool and urine samples with advanced genetic methods can find hidden germs in people with weakened immune systems (like those on chemotherapy or with HIV). The goal is to see if these non-invasive tests work as well as or better than standard tests on blood or other invasive samples. 120 participants will provide samples to help improve diagnosis of unexplained infections.
